Rachel Lilienthal Stark is a member of the Banking & Financial Services, Business & Corporate, Intellectual Property and Non-Profit Organization Groups. On Monday, applications for the second round of funding under the COVID-19 Relief Statewide Small Business Assistance Program were opened. Grants of between $5,000 and $50,000, depending on a business’ revenues, will be issued by Pennsylvania’s 17 Community Development Financial Institutions within two weeks of the application period closing. Funding for the grant program comes from federal stimulus money provided to the state through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

On June 8, Governor Wolf announced a $225 million statewide grant program for small businesses impacted by COVID-19. The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) will distribute the funds to Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), which will then administer the funding in the form of grants. The DCED will issue further guidance regarding the grants later this week.
