Texting while driving has become a very serious problem and a major factor in causing auto accidents. In February of 2012, Massachusetts teenager, Aaron Deveau, was convicted of motor vehicle homicide while texting and driving. The 18-year-old is the first to be convicted for “texting while driving,” and was sentenced to two years in prison and a 15-year revoked license. Many state legislators are addressing this very serious problem. Texting while driving is currently a crime in 38 states with Pennsylvania enacting the law in March of this year.
